PROPOSED STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP
The City Council is currently investigating a proposal that a private company (the Strategic Partner) should manage some of its services. Should the proposal go ahead it would mean that jobs will be externalised.
UNISON is opposed to the externalisation of jobs and services from the public sector to the private sector and for a long time has been running a ‘Keep Public Services Public’ campaign.
Consequently your UNISON branch has arranged a meeting to seek your views regarding this proposal and to inform you of the approach we are taking with regard to it.
At a previous meeting of UNISON members involved in phase 1 of the proposal, in November 2008, your UNISON colleagues voted unanimously against the proposals, making it very clear that they wanted to keep public services public.
Please make every effort to attend this important meeting which will be held on:
22 July 2009
12.30 PM
